Mammoth crowd throng Daura for durbar in honour of Buhari

Thousands of people from within and outside the country, on Tuesday witnessed the special durbar organised in honour of the former President Muhammadu Buhari.

The durbar was organised by the Daura Emirate Council in appreciation of the impeccable service the former president rendered to the nation.

The former Minister of Aviation, Sen. Hadi Sirika, thanked all those who answered the invitation to the ancient city of Daura to rejoice with them.

Sirika also thanked the Almighty Allah, who through His infinite mercies, the president successfully completed his eight year-term serving the country.

The former president, who is the “Bayajidda II”, together with his wife, Hajiya Aisha, received accolades from the horse riders.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the event was attended by the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha, former Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari and majority of the ministers who served under him.

Gov. Dikko Umar-Radda, his Dputy, Alhaji Faruk Lawal, Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir-Usman, former commissioners, religious and community leaders were among the attendees of the epochal occasion.

Gov. Babagana Zulum of Borno, Emir of Bichi, Alhaji Nasiru Ado-Bayero as well as traditional rulers from the neighbouring Niger Republic were also in attendance.

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, the renowned business mogul and Chairman of Max Air Ltd, Alhaji Dahiru Mangal, also graced the momentous event.

NAN also reports that a book on the former president was unveiled during the event.

The book, titled: ‘Compendium of Life and Times of Muhammadu Buhari’, was unveiled by Sirika. (NAN)
