Argentina goalkeeper, Gero Rulli
Manchester City have agreed a deal to sign Argentine goalkeeper, Gero Rulli from Olympique Marseille, adding an experienced option between the posts as Pep Guardiola continues to fine tune his squad for the new season.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the agreement on Friday with his trademark “Here We Go”, revealing that Rulli has been cleared to undergo his medical in Manchester this week.
The 34 year old is expected to sign a contract running until June 2028, with City also securing the option to extend his stay by an additional year until June 2029.
A member of Argentina’s 2022 FIFA World Cup winning squad, Rulli arrives with vast experience gained at clubs including Real Sociedad, Villarreal, Ajax and Marseille. His pedigree and calm presence offer City a dependable option whenever called upon.
More importantly, the move highlights City’s determination to leave little to chance as they prepare for another demanding campaign. Rather than simply adding numbers, Guardiola is strengthening key positions with proven quality, ensuring the squad has the depth needed to compete consistently across the Premier League, UEFA Champions League and domestic cup competitions.
