
Rep. Asema Achado

A member of the House of Representatives for Gwer East/ Gwer West Federal Constituency, Dr Asema Achado has expressed profound empathy as he paid a heartfelt condolence visit to the community of Wa-ndoo-Mbakyor, in Gwer East Local Government of Benue State.
The visit of the lawmaker to the community was as a result of the tragic incident on March 7, 2024, where innocent souls fell victim to heinous acts perpetrated by Fulani herdsmen even as he had sent huge support during the attack to move the corpses.
A statement by the Personal Assistant to the legislator on media and publicity, Menda Manasseh revealed that in a solemn address to the bereaved community, Achado who condemned the barbaric assault on Wa-Ndoo community by herdsmen, described it as an intolerable act of evil.
He urged the state government to swiftly enforce the Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law and bring perpetrators of the carnage to justice.
The house of representatives member reaffirmed his steadfast dedication to serving his constituents and donated one million, two hundred and fifty thousand naira to facilitate the procurement of seedlings for the upcoming farming season.
He appreciated the Secretary of the Government of the Federation, Senator Dr. George Akume, for the donation of one hundred bags of 50kg rice to the people of Wa-ndoo in Mbakyor community which according to him served as a beacon of support during this trying time and assured the community of imminent federal government intervention to address their plight.
Speaking separately at the event, the representatives of Wa-ndoo community, Zaki Sakuma Tov and Sir Simon Kofi, President of Mbaikyor community in diaspora, commended Asema Achado for his unwavering commitment and compassion towards the people of Gwer East/Gwer West Federal constituency.
They expressed gratitude for the visit, noting that it symbolized solidarity in the face of adversity caused by the recent attack on the community.
Achado during the visit to the affected community was accompanied by the Gwer East State House of Assembly member, Hon. Elias Audu, Barr. Godwin Buluku, among other stakeholder.
