Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has approved a major redeployment of senior officers as part of a broad reorganisation aimed at boosting operational efficiency and reinforcing its command structure.
This was disclosed in a statement issued in Abuja on Friday by the Director of Public Relations and Information for the NAF, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame,
According to Ejodame, the latest postings are designed to align with the strategic vision of the new Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, and to ensure the service remains agile, innovative, and mission-ready.
> “The reorganisation is aimed at enhancing decision-making, reinforcing mission readiness, and sustaining the drive for greater synergy in joint operations,” Ejodame stated.
Under the new arrangement, Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Abubakar Abdullahi has been appointed Chief of Policy and Plans, while AVM Adeniran Ademuwagun takes over as Commandant of the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) in Kaduna.
Similarly, AVM Ibitayo Ajiboye has been named Group Managing Director of the NAF Investment Limited (NAFIL) Group of Companies, and AVM Precious Amadi assumes the role of Chief of Operations.
Other key appointments include AVM Nnamdi Ananaba as Chief of Air Intelligence, AVM Ebimobo Ebiowe as Superintendent of Standards and Evaluation, and AVM Ahmed Dari as Chief of Training.
In addition, AVM Mohammed Ibrahim will now head the Transformation and Innovation Branch, reflecting the service’s renewed focus on technology-driven advancement.
For logistics and engineering, AVM Olufemi Ogunsina becomes Chief of Aircraft Engineering, while AVM Michael Onyebashi has been appointed Air Officer Commanding (AOC), Mobility Command.
AVM David Pwajok is now Chief of Communication and Information Systems, and AVM John Ukeh takes up the position of Air Provost Marshal.
The NAF also appointed AVM Simon Peter as Managing Director, NAFIL Housing and Construction Company, and AVM Chidiebere Obiabaka as Air Secretary.
Other top postings include AVM Anthony Martins as Chief of Administration, AVM Abubakar Sule as AOC, Logistics Command, and AVM Abdulrasheed Kotun as Managing Director, NAF Farms. AVM Edward Gabkwet will serve as Chief of Civil-Military Relations, while AVM Osichinaka Ubadike becomes Deputy Commandant, AFIT.
Several other senior officers — including AVMs Ahmed Bakari, Albert Bot, Idi Sani, Muhammed Suleiman, Jibrin Usman, and Japheht Ekwuribe — have also been deployed to various defence and inter-service institutions to enhance joint operations and improve national defence coordination.
Ejodame explained that the redeployment was part of a strategic leadership balancing effort designed to sustain the ongoing transformation within the Air Force.
He added that the service is “poised to consolidate on past achievements and advance Air Marshal Aneke’s vision of a force defined by purpose, protection, and progress.”
