Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has eliminated over 35 terrorists through targeted air strikes near the Nigeria-Cameroon border, as part of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK).
This is contained in a statement released on Saturday in Abuja by NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame.
The operation, conducted in the early hours of August 23, was launched in response to an attempted attack on ground troops in the Kumshe axis of Borno.
Ejodame explained, “The precision air interdiction was executed based on multiple intelligence reports,” targeting four identified terrorist assembly areas with successive strikes.
He confirmed the operation’s success, stating, “Communication re-established with ground troops confirmed that the situation around their location had stabilised.”
Ejodame emphasized that the strikes align with NAF’s mission to dominate the battle space and restrict terrorist activities in the North East.
He noted, “The sustained operations were aimed at providing close air support to ground forces and disrupting terrorist logistics and movement corridors along the border region.”
The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, praised the aircrew’s professionalism, with Ejodame quoting him as saying, “NAF’s resolve to sustain aggressive and intelligence-driven operations” remains unwavering.
The operation underscores NAF’s commitment to neutralizing threats and supporting ground forces in the region.
