Nasarawa community charts way forward for economic prosperity

The Olosoho (Agwatashi) Development Association in Obi LGA of Nasarawa State, has expressed readiness to close ranks towards addressing the socio economic fortunes of the community.

This was made known during a retreat organised by the pioneer officials of the association during a one day induction organized for the BoT and other stakeholders of the community.

The event which took place at the 1st Crown Luxury Hotel along Shendam road Lafia, Saturday, had in attendance two former Senators from the community, Senator Suleiman Adokwe, Senator Salihu Hussaini Egyegbola and Elder Mark Ogbole, former registrar of FCE Pankshin.

The one day induction course for the management team, was also meant to ascertain issues where skills and talents are challenge with a view of finding the possible ways of addressing them and to set agendas for sustainable peace and progress of the community.

Chairman of the association, Dr Isma’ila Agyo Ewa, in a welcome address, showed appreciation with the turnout of the illustrious sons and daughters of the community and expressed optimism that the management will take advantage of the retreats to develop a vision for Olosoho community.

He called on sons and daughters of the community to close ranks with members of the association and work assiduous towards revamping political and socio economic fortunes of the community.

On their parts, former senators of the federal republic of Nigeria, Senator Suleiman Asonya Adokwe and Salihu Hussaini Egyegbola, both described the retreat as apt, explaining that a community is developed only when there is mutual cohesion among members for peace and economic prosperity.

The two former Senators, who held from the community, charged the management team, to key into the induction course for the change of life style of the community to meet up with the global challenges.

Papers on the need to transform the educational, economy, security and the health needs of the community, were presented by Elder Mark Ogbole, Hajia Zainab Abdulahi Magaji of the state Ministry of Education and Mr Joseph Agyo, also of the state Ministry of Science and Technology.

Other papers were presented by Dr Donald Egbe, from Abuja, Mr Harry Agbo, a retired Director of NNPC and Mr Albert Oyigye, who both explained that there is need for Olosoho community to develop a vision for the change in mindset to enhance security and the health need of the people.

They added that education is the responsibility of all, saying every member of the association must contribute his quota towards ensuring the realization of educational goal of the Olosoho development association for positive transformation.

They also noted that youths are tools for sustainable peace and development of any society, saying engaging them in positive ventures will improve their well being and make them self reliant.
