Nasarawa LGA imposes curfew over cult clashes

The authority of Keffi Local Government Council of Nasarawa State, has imposed a dusk to dawn curfew in Keffi metropolis over the nefarious activities of ‘Yanshara group’.

Similarly, the council has ordered the closure of ‘Public and Private Primary Schools’ in the area following yesterday’s violent crimes unleashed by the cult group.

The Council Chairman, Alhaji Muhammad Baba Shehu, gave the directive in a letter addressed to the area’s Education Secretary, which was made available to the press.

The letter dated Thursday June 01, indicated that the closure is with immediate effect, as such all academic activities suspended till further notice.

The council boss directed the Education Secretary, to close down all private and public primary schools till further notice.

The chairman expressed regret over the breach of law and order by the group that reportedly claimed lives and destroyed properties worth thousands of naira.

Security operatives have since been deployed to the area to ensure adequate security of lives and property and curb the activities of the cult group.
