NCDC records 154 new Covid-19 infections, 168,867 total cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday announced that it has registered 154 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infections in the country to 168,867 confirmed cases.

As at Tuesday, 13 July, 2021, the public health agency recorded one COVID-19-related deaths, leaving the total fatalities in Nigeria to 2,125 deaths.

The NCDC made this know in an update via its official website, https://www.ncdc.gov.ng, noting that the 154 new cases were reported from 9 states, including: – Lagos (119), Akwa Ibom (11), Rivers (6), Oyo (5), Ekiti (4), Ogun (4), FCT (2), Gombe (2) and Kwara (1)

It added that with the new cases, the total number of confirmed infections since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country had risen to 168,867 confirmed cases, out of which 164,623 Covid-19 patients have been discharged.

The NCDC further noted that there were now 2,119 active cases across the country in the last 24 hours and it has so far carried out sample test on 2,362,757 persons since the outbreak of the pandemic, last year.
