NDE trains over 130 unemployed youths in Cross River

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has carried out the training of 130 unemployed youths in Cross River State in its effort to reduce the rising unemployment rate in the state

Speaking at the Opening Ceremony on Monday, The Director General, Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo reiterated the cardinal objectives of the NDE to include, Poverty reduction, employment generation and wealth creation.

The Director General who was represented by the State Coordinator of NDE Mr Udam Gabriel Ugbashi, added that “today’s training is in three trending skills in Nigeria. This include,Organic stones/beads, perfumery, event management, Gele and make up as well as the and dye.

In her own remarks, the representative of the Director of the Small Scale Enterprise Department Mrs. Ngozi Elochukwu, admonished the beneficiaries to take the training seriously in order to justify the huge investment of the Federal Government in the exercise.

The 5 days training was rounded up at the Federal Secretariat Calabar, the Cross River State capital
