Nigeria records 1,031 new COVID-19 infections

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), announced on Thursday that a total of 1,031 COVID-19 infections were recorded across the country.

In an update via its official twitter @NCDCgov, the health agency also put the total number of confirmed infections in Nigeria at 87,510 out of which 73,713 cases have so far been discharged.

It added that 1,289 deaths had been recorded since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country in early 2020,

According to the NCDC, of the 1,031 new infections, 570 came from Lagos, followed by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) with 117 and Kaduna-109.

The remaining cases were recorded from Nasarawa-34, Bauchi-31, Kano-28, Plateau-26, Sokoto-26, Ogun-25, Edo-18, Rivers-16, Abia-10, Imo-7, Taraba-6, Delta-4 and Osun-4.
