
Arrested fake soldier

Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) troops in Plateau State apprehended Musa Ali in Jos for posing as a military personnel.
The operation’s Media Officer, Maj. Samson Zhakom, confirmed this in a statement issued on Saturday.
Ali was taken into custody for attempting to deceive and defraud members of the public.
Specifically, he tried to swindle money from the family of a detained gunrunner by falsely claiming he could influence the suspect’s release.
According to Zhakom, “He was arrested when he fraudulently presented himself as a personnel of OPSH and deceitfully collected N400,000 from the family of a notorious gunrunner currently undergoing investigation.”
Ali falsely claimed he could halt investigations and secure the suspect’s release.
OPSH operatives discovered Ali’s fraudulent activities, leading to his arrest.
Zhakom emphasized that the arrest highlights the operation’s commitment to professionalism and zero tolerance for corruption.
Zhakom stated that Ali will face prosecution after investigations are completed, in line with legal procedures.
He stressed the importance of residents being cautious of individuals making false claims.
Residents of Plateau State are urged to be vigilant against fraudsters, as per Maj. Zhakom’s statement.
