Nigeria and Saudi Arabia have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening economic cooperation following a meeting between Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Yakubu Gambo, and the Governor of the Saudi General Authority for Foreign Trade, Mohammed A. Abduljabbar.
The courtesy visit focused on strategies to expand trade between both countries by increasing import and export activities while addressing the existing trade imbalance.
During the discussions, the Saudi delegation expressed strong interest in sourcing more Nigerian agricultural products, manufactured goods, and livestock. The Authority also requested the Nigerian Embassy in Riyadh to identify and authenticate credible Nigerian exporters to facilitate smoother and more reliable trade relations.
Ambassador Gambo reiterated Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening economic ties with Saudi Arabia, noting that the initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritises economic growth, investment, and expanded international trade.
The meeting is expected to pave the way for greater commercial collaboration and create new opportunities for Nigerian exporters seeking access to the Saudi market.
