Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani
Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has described his working relationship with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, as a model of cooperative governance anchored on shared vision and commitment to the welfare of the people.
The Governor said the collaboration between the National Assembly leadership and the Kaduna State Government reflects governance at its best, stressing that development thrives when leaders work in harmony.
Speaking at a special constituency empowerment programme organised by Speaker Abbas at the Nuhu Babajo Stadium, Zaria, Governor Sani said the partnership is built on mutual respect and a common resolve to deliver tangible benefits to citizens.
According to him, “When leaders work together, development accelerates and trust in public institutions is strengthened. What we are witnessing here today is a clear demonstration of purposeful leadership in action.”
At the event, Speaker Abbas distributed 850 motorcycles and 30 vehicles and commissioned sports centres across Zaria Federal Constituency as part of a wide-ranging empowerment initiative.
Beneficiaries included teachers, religious leaders, polling unit heads, community support groups, security operatives, as well as members of the Old CPC Support Group for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Uba Sani.
Governor Sani said the empowerment programme reflects the Speaker’s belief that public office must translate into visible improvements in the lives of the people, noting that democracy finds true meaning when it delivers dignity, opportunity and hope.
He added that the initiative underscores a development philosophy rooted in productivity, inclusion and human wellbeing, describing it as a powerful reminder of what focused and people-centred leadership can achieve.
In his remarks, Speaker Abbas recalled that the empowerment programme, which began days earlier, initially focused on economic empowerment through training opportunities and financial grants for women and youths.
He explained that the Sunday event marked the next phase of the initiative, with investments in mobility, organisational capacity and community infrastructure aimed at strengthening education, security, political participation and youth development across Zaria Federal Constituency and Kaduna State at large.
According to the Speaker, the distribution of motorcycles is intended to reward service and reinforce grassroots structures by easing mobility challenges faced by teachers, religious leaders, polling unit officials, support groups and security personnel.
“Improved mobility reduces daily hardship and increases efficiency. Teachers can reach classrooms more consistently, religious leaders can engage wider communities, grassroots organisers can operate effectively, and security personnel can respond faster,” he said.
Speaker Abbas also presented 30 vehicles to the Old CPC Support Group for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Senator Uba Sani Continuity 2027 group in recognition of their loyalty and organisational strength, noting that strong political structures remain essential for stability and good governance.
He further justified the commissioning of sports centres across the constituency, describing sports as a vital tool for community development that promotes discipline, teamwork and confidence among young people.
