
Arrested suspects

The Borno State Police Command has apprehended 14 suspects for various crimes, including murder, theft, and possession of marijuana.
The suspects were paraded before journalists on Thursday at the Police Command Headquarters in Maiduguri.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Dasu Kenneth, the command has intensified efforts to restore peace and safety in the state.

ASP Kenneth noted that the successes were achieved through the discharge of the police’s primary statutory duties.
According to him, the suspects were arrested for various crimes, including culpable homicide, theft, and possession of illegal drugs.
“One suspect, Usakahyel Adamu, was arrested for allegedly killing his grandfather with a hoe during an altercation.
“Another suspect, Lydia Aji, was arrested for killing her husband with an axe during a domestic dispute.

He said the police also arrested three suspects, Abubakar Adam, Abba Mantrab, and Abubakar Mustapha, for possession of illegal drugs, including exole tablets and Indian hemp. Five suspects, Mamuda Gamboru, Shuaibu Suleiman, ISA Ali, Sabitu Aminu, and Inusa Adamu, were arrested for stealing solar panels, batteries, and inverters from a street light.
The police spokesman added that the operatives also arrested one Manda Usman for stealing a water sumo pump and attempting to sell it.

“Three suspects, Mohammed Goni, Modu Mustapha, and Mustapha Mohammed Lawan, were arrested for criminal intimidation and threatening to kill a man unless he paid them two million naira”, he said.
