Nasarawa State Police Command has assured that a thorough investigation will be carried out in order to fish out those who killed 7 persons over the weekend in the state.
The state Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Shettima, gave the assurance when he visited Tattara community in Karu Local Government Area of the State, where some residents were killed by unknown gunmen, condoled with the families of the deceased.
Unknown gunmen on Saturday night invaded the community where seven (7) persons were confirmed dead on Sunday morning and several others sustained various degree of injuries.
The Commissioner of Police however appealed to residents of the community to remain calm and law abiding.
Meanwhile, Dr. Onuk Oji Galadima, Chairman of NYCN in Panda said the tragic incident has left the community devastated and in a complete state of grief.
Onuk, who also condoled with the families of the victims enjoined the country’s security agencies take swift action in order to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
“This senseless attack on innocent unarmed citizens is unacceptable and must be condemned by all”
“As we demand concrete steps from the government to ensure safety of our communities, we also call on the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities and not to take law into their hands.
“Furthermore, we request adequate support and assistance for the affected families and community.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Tattara and other villages affected by similar incidents” he said.
