Pope Leo XIV has expressed his prayers for the victims of the tragic school shooting in Graz, Austria, where 10 students and a teacher lost their lives.
During his weekly audience at the Vatican, the Pope said, “I would like to express my prayers for the victims of the tragedy at the Graz school.”
The Pope added that he is keeping the families, teachers, and fellow pupils in his thoughts, saying, “I am keeping the families, teachers, and fellow pupils in my thoughts.”
The shooting occurred on Tuesday when a 21-year-old former pupil entered the school grounds and opened fire.
The suspect later shot himself, and 11 people remain hospitalized, although they are now reported to be in stable condition.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the city of Graz, home to around 300,000 people.
The Pope’s message of condolences comes as the city mourns the loss of young lives.
