At the Udeco Medical Centre, a redefined medical facility in Nigeria based in Lagos, we offer medical services to our clients and treat our staff (personnel) with the best ethical standards and the laid down procedures, required of medical outfits.
For more than a year now, Doctor Aloy- a medical group on telegram that accommodates and focuses on the wellbeing of medical personnel in the country, blacklisted our organisation on the mere allegations of no-payment of salaries to staff and other unverified infractions.
Of course, we respect the group and any other that fights for the interest/welfare of its members. But in doing so, there should be fairness, especially when members of the group have issues against non-members in order not to support and encourage their members from blatantly violating laid down rules and procedural processes of organisations they work for.
It is for these that we appeal to the Dr. Aloy’s Group to rethink and revisit its blacklisting us for the sake of fair hearing,balance, objectivity, and professionalism.
One of the reasons for blacklisting our company, as cited by the group, is that we owe salaries of members that once worked in our facility,a claim that is false and unverified.
For the records,as a reverred going concern,we are not owing the salary of any worker(serving and former).We challenge those who claimed their salaries are owed to show proof.Otherwise,it’s a ploy taken too far to tarnish our corporate image and probably run us out of business.
We expected that our facility would have been contacted to get its side of the story before arriving at any punitive measure, but this was not the case as the Dr.Aloy Group simply relied on what its members reported.
This breaches fair hearing.
Let us put it on record here that some of the doctors(members of Dr. Alloy Group) who come for locum coverages,come to outrightly abuse the standing rules of our organisation.
For instance,how do you explain a doctor who is engaged for a 24-hour shift at night, decides to snitch or even directs the nurses to send away patients desiring treatment that night to come back in the morning of the next day?
We have had such instances of members of the group in our employment behaving this way against the ethics of the medical profession and our code of conduct. When queried,such doctors desert us and go to report a one-sided story against us, and you hurriedly take a decision against us without hearing from us!It’s unfair as no employer condones malfeasance.
There are instances where your doctor members come to work with friends and indulge more in hearty conversations than the actual work.Others demand that patients pay cash to them for treatment while some get involved in open confrontation with patients.
Most of them,despite being employed full time, have blatantly refused to submit their credentials qualifying them for the jobs.Several reminds are rebuffed.They subsequently leave on their volition only to report our company to you as not paying them;and you accept without hearing from us? This is tantamount to shaving one’s hair at one’s back.
Also,some of your members have breached their employment contract with our facility by refusing to give a stipulated notification for resignation, which is a laid down procedure in all established organisations. You do not expect an organisation to pay you when you decide to abscond without necessarily giving sufficient notice to resign.
These are the members of your group who either breached our code of conduct or acted arbitrarily against our organisation but have quickly rushed to you to present a one-sided story that prompted your sledge hammer on us.
Therefore, we urge you to reconsider your action for fairness, objectivity, accuracy and balance as we do not owe any worker.
Kindly deblacklist us even as we plead with you to visit our facility to access the true picture of things.
