Rector tasks Ramat Polytechnic students on hardwork , pledges support for academic excellence

The Deputy Rector Academic, Ramat Polytechnic Maiduguri, Dr. Modu Kagu Gadzama has called on students of the polytechnic to continue to be law abiding and obey constituted authorities of the institution.

He also urged them to study hard and concentrate on their learning to justify the confidence their parents and lecturers reposed on them.

The Deputy Rector, who is the Patron of the Marghi association made the call during Annual Cultural Day celebration of the Marghi Students Association (MSA), Ramat Polytechnic Maidugur held at the Sports Center of Ramat Polytechni on Sunday evening with Executive Chairman of Askira /Uba LGC, Hon. Abdullahi Ahidjo as Chairman and Hajiya Maryam MaiWada Gadzama as Chairlady .

Represented by Mr. Wadzani Mamza, who is also the Former Special Staff Adviser of MSA and a retired senior staff of the polytechnic, assured that as parents and guardians of the students , they will continue to advise, guide and counsel the students to be good ambassadors of the Marghi kingdom which has rich historical and cultural heritage to be reckoned with.

The Patron further promised to support and assist the association and students in general towards the development and sustainability of the association and Marghi culture.

He wished the leadership of the association good luck and prosperous future as they graduate with flying colours

On her part, The President of the Marghi Students Association, Miss Ayankwai Usman thanked all the personalities that graced the occasion and management of the institution for its support and encouragement to Marghi students and association while assuring colourful event and display of Marghi cultural heritage .

Mr. Apagu Wampana Mamza the Borno State Marghi Chairman urged the association to continue the good things they have been doing in promoting Marghi cultural values while appreciating the organizers of the students Marghi day and launching of Marghi special dish.

The Executive Chairman of Askira Uba LGC, Hon. Abdullahi Ahidjo represented by Hon. launched the Marghi special dish with N200,000 and his representative, Hon. Talba Sima Ishaya also launched the dish with N50, 000 on behalf of his family and company while DSP Pius T . J. Ishaya donated N50,000 for a plate of the Marghi special dish.

Other donations included N35,000 from Hajiya Maryam MaiWada, Marghi Chairman Apagu N5000, Marghi Youths Initiative N5000, Cubik students N3000, Lama Gadzama N5000 and many others.

About N400,000 was realized at the launching of the Marghi special dish. Other highlights of the event include cultural dances, display of calendar of the association, launching of Marghi special dish, songs and group photographs, among others
