Rep Dagogo set to distribute 700 laptops, 17 boats, financial grants to constituents

Rep. Farah Dagogo (PDP, Degema/Bonny), has procured 700 laptops and 17 fibre boats with 75HP outboard engines to be distributed to his constituents as empowerment packages.

In a new year message issued on Saturday in Port Harcourt by Dagogo’s Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Ibrahim Lawal, the items, he said, was to be distributed to bridge the poverty gap.

The legislator also said that 1000 widows and the elderly would also be given financial grants.

He stated that the empowerment programme would kick-start the new year for his constituents and others in the Niger Delta region.

According to the legislator, the empowerment scheme, which is to hold in the first quarter of 2021, is aimed at making the people self-reliant.

“The empowerment items are provision of 700 laptops and financial grants for Information and Communications Technology inclined youths, N250,000 each for 500 widows and a further N250,000 each for 500 elderly.

“17, 75HP outboard engines with fibre boats, life jackets and other accessories will be made available for the riverine areas of Degema/Bonny.

“This is in addition to the yearly payment of fees for the West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination as well as the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board Examination,” he said.

Dagogo said that some of the funding would be done in conjunction with some Federal Government Agencies.

He thanked God for the grace to see the new year and expressed optimism that year 2021 would be a prosperous year of upliftment.

“First, we thank the Almighty for a new year, it is our fervent wish and prayer that the Almighty grant us a prosperous year in good health and wealth.

“It is my belief that 2021 will outshine previous years in terms of grace, and progress, we definitely shall move to greater heights,” he added.

The federal lawmaker said that the empowerment programme was commitment to the people of Degema/Bonny Federal Constituency, Rivers and the Niger Delta region at large.

He said the empowerment scheme lined up would cut across all strata of human engagements.(NAN)
