Senate on Thursday confirmed the appointment of Dr. Kingsley Udeh as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Udeh’s confirmation came after his screening by the Committee of the Whole during plenary.
Dr. Udeh, who currently serves as the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Enugu State, assured senators that his strong academic and research background, combined with his governance experience and expertise in development, would enable him to contribute meaningfully to President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“If given the opportunity to serve, I will discharge my duties with diligence and dedication,” he stated while addressing the lawmakers.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio, in his remarks following the confirmation, commended Udeh’s nomination, describing him as a capable and well-rounded professional.
“Udeh is a suitable choice for ministerial appointment,” Akpabio said.
“Let me thank Mr. President for the nomination of Dr. Kingsley Udeh.
“He appears to be fit and proper to be a minister—he has acquitted himself as a well-bred Nigerian child, acknowledging his parents. I hope he will bring his wealth of experience to add value to the Federal Executive Council and help realise the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr. President.” He said.
