Former Sokoto State governor and current Senator for Sokoto North, Senator Aliyu Wamakko, has launched a massive empowerment program, distributing over 1,000 motorcycles, 10,000 bags of 50kg rice, sewing machines, and water pumps to constituents.
The initiative, part of his ongoing commitment to uplift the people of Sokoto, kicked off in Silame, Tangaza, Gudu, and Binji local government areas.
At the event, held at Wamakko’s residence in Sokoto, which daily supports over 1,000 people, Sokoto State APC Youth Leader Alhaji Nasiru Italy, speaking on the Senator’s behalf, emphasized Wamakko’s dedication to the state’s economic progress.
“Senator Wamakko’s leadership is inclusive, extending beyond Sokoto North to benefit the entire state,” Italy said, as quoted by Wamakko’s Special Adviser on Media, Bashar Abubakar.
He added that the empowerment program will soon reach Kware, Sokoto North, Sokoto South, and Wamakko local government areas.
Sokoto State House of Assembly Deputy Speaker Kabiru Ibrahim Kware praised Wamakko as a respected leader across the state and nation, noting his efforts to empower communities regardless of affiliations.
“His commitment to uplifting lives has earned him widespread respect,” Kware said.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude, highlighting how the motorcycles, sewing machines, farming equipment, and food items will significantly improve their livelihoods.
They described Wamakko’s generosity as a lifeline and a testament to his unwavering support for the people of Sokoto.
