Senegal football team celebrates their victory against England
Senegal made history by becoming the first African team to beat England in 22 games, winning 3-1 in a friendly match at the City Ground in Nottingham, UK.
The victory stretched Senegal’s unbeaten streak to 24 games, thanks to goals from Ismaila Sarr, Habib Diarra, and Cheikh Sabaly.
England captain Harry Kane expressed disappointment, saying, “Not good enough. We had moments, but with and without the ball things aren’t clicking, we’re not finding the right tempo.” Kane added, “We need to find it quick, the World Cup is going to come around really fast.”
Kane emphasized the need for improvement, stating, “New ideas, there’s new players coming into the team that don’t have experience at international level… It’s a mixture of things but no excuses.”
*“Disappointing Result” – Thomas Tuchel*
England manager Thomas Tuchel said, “Disappointing result, not sure if we didn’t deserve a little bit more result-wise… Felt again a bit frozen, not active enough for a long time of the match.”
Senegal peppered England goalkeeper Dean Henderson with nine shots on target, while England managed only four.
The result marked England’s first defeat in four games under Tuchel’s management.
