The Acting Provost, School of Health Sciences, Keffi, Mr. Abdullahi Suleman has denied the rumour making the round that he is favouring some staff in terms of appointment above others.
Mr. Suleman, who denied this allegation in an interview with newsmen in Keffi, explained that he has no power to appoint anybody into key offices, as his managerial position only limit him to operate in acting capacity.
According to him, those making the allegations are ignorant of the laws guiding the establishment of the college, as the institution has been upgraded from the College of Health Technology to School of Health Sciences.
He added that the Governor is yet to appoint the governing board for the school, hence all appointments are done by the Governor through the State’s Commissioner for Health, who is overseeing the affairs of the institution.
Mr. Suleman further explained that his position as an Acting Provost together with the school’s register and bursar are all operating in acting capacity, while the position of the deans have been changed to directors as stipulated by the laws governing the institution.
He also noted that the former vice principal has been upgraded to the position of acting register.
While stating that people hardly accept changes, the Acting Provost, however expressed optimism that sooner enough, the staff would get use to the new portfolio and would enjoy it better.
He therefore sued for unity among the school’s staff, while warning those peddling rumours to desist from such and always seek for clarifications when ever they are in doubts of anything happening in the school.
