Sokoto Govt to construct access road through bandits’ den

In continuation of his quest for the safety of the lives and property of citizens in Sokoto State, Governor Ahmed Aliyu has approved the construction of a road in Tureta Local Government Areathat will open up the den of bandits terrorising the Sokoto/Gusau route.

Governor Aliyu disclosed this when he visited Tureta Local Government as part of his state-wide tour to the 23 local governments of the state,

Giving reasons behind the contract, the governor said the newly awarded Tureta/ Gidan Kare road completed would make bandits enclaves and hideouts easily accessible to the relevant security agencies.

He assured that his administration is committed towards providing all that is necessary to make Sokoto safe, devoid of any security challenge.

“Be rest assured that we will spend our last kobo to guarantee the safety of the lives and property of our people.

“We are always touched by the heinous acts of banditry in our dear state, and we are taking more measures to end the menace Insha Allah”, he vowed.

While promising to construct more feeder roads, water projects, renovate Jumuat Mosques as well as install 250 solar- powered street lights in the area, the governor further called for collective prayer and information sharing as a sure panacea to ending activities of bandits and bad eggs terrorism the environs.

Earlier, the APC leader in the state, Senator Aliyu Wamakko, extolled the various initiatives introduced by Governor Aliyu, saying it’s geared towards turning around the fortunes of the state for good.

Senator Wamakko solicited for more support to the present administration in its quest to transform the state.

Other speakers at the events included the former Minister of Police Affairs, Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, Aliyu Abubakar Tureta, Aminu Magaji Bodai and Umaru Katami, among others
