Federal Government has reaffirmed that the South-East region is a cornerstone of President Bola Tinubu’s vision and agenda, emphasizing an inclusive approach to national development.
Alhaji Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information and National Orientation, made this assertion during a Citizens’ Engagement event in Enugu State on Thursday.
Leading a federal; government delegation, Idris embarked on a three-day tour of Enugu and Ebonyi states to interact with citizens and highlight ongoing projects under the Tinubu administration, as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
“We are committed to ensuring that no region, including the South-East, is left behind in Nigeria’s progress,” Idris declared, addressing concerns about marginalization.
He emphasized that Tinubu’s leadership prioritizes equitable governance, dismissing any return to an era where any part of the country is sidelined.
Idris pointed to the establishment of new development commissions for previously underserved zones as evidence of Tinubu’s commitment to balanced growth.
“President Tinubu’s appointments and project allocations reflect fairness across all regions,” he stated, adding that the benefits of the administration’s reforms will become increasingly evident by the end of Tinubu’s first term.
The minister also highlighted various empowerment and humanitarian initiatives rolled out to mitigate the impact of policies like the fuel subsidy removal.
“The federal government is dedicated to transparency, accountability, and delivering the dividends of democracy to all Nigerians,” Idris affirmed.
“Under Tinubu’s leadership, Nigeria is on a clear path to prosperity.”
The engagement event saw participation from diverse stakeholders in Enugu State, underscoring the government’s focus on direct citizen interaction, according to NAN.
