
Taraba State Government has commenced another round of recruitment into the state civil service, with plans to employ 1,805 qualified applicants as part of efforts to strengthen the public workforce.
Chairman of the Taraba State Civil Service Commission, Mr. Philip Kundila, announced the exercise during a press briefing on Thursday.
He said the recruitment follows Governor Agbu Kefas’ directive to expand employment opportunities after years of limited recruitment into the state civil service.
Kundila disclosed that the ongoing exercise is designed to bring more competent and qualified citizens into the service, adding that the government remains committed to building an efficient and professional workforce.
He also revealed that workers previously classified as ghost workers have now been regularised and absorbed into the civil service.
According to him, 3,187 workers were absorbed during the first phase of the employment programme initiated by the Kefas administration, while the new recruitment exercise will add another 1,805 employees.
The commission chairman cautioned applicants against falling victim to fraudsters who may claim they can influence the recruitment process.
He stressed that anyone caught engaging in fraudulent activities would face the full weight of the law, noting that the recruitment itself is free, although applicants are required to pay only ₦3,000 for the application form.
“Do not give money to anyone in the name of assisting you to be employ. The employment is free.
“All applicants must follow through the processes, and successful ones will be shortlisted for interview. Only qualify candidate will be employ to ensure excellent civil service in Taraba state”.
Kundila assured applicants that the selection process would be transparent and merit-based.
The chairman, alongside the Permanent Secretary of the commission, Comrade David Nyan, also expressed appreciation to Governor Agbu Kefas for approving the recruitment exercise and releasing funds for the renovation of the commission’s secretariat.
