Prof. Adesoji Adesugba, Managing Director, NEPZA

Prof. Adesoji Adesugba, Managing-Director, Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA) has described President-elect Bola Tinubu as the brain behind modern free trade zones in Nigeria.

Adesugba said this in his congratulatory message to Tinubu issued on Monday in Abuja by Dr Martins Odeh, Head of Corporate Communications in NEPZA.

According to him, Tinubu laid the foundation for the establishment of the leading free zones in the country.

He said that the free trade zones attracted over 20 billion US dollars to the national economy and generated 170,000 direct and indirect employments.

Adesugba said that the Eko Atlantic and the Lekki Free Zone, Lagos Free Zone, Lagos Free Port, Alaro City Free Zone and the just concluded Deep-Sea Port were Tinubu’s exclusive initiatives.

“Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presidency will be a new dawn and a veritable strategy for speedy economic development.

“We are optimistic that the excellent progress made by His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, in the sector will be expanded and sustained.

“It is on this note that the Management and Staff of the Authority congratulate the deserving victory of a man with the right foresight to use the free zone scheme to speed up the development of the country,’’ Adesugba said. (NAN)
