President Bola Tinubu has reopened the renovated Abuja International Conference Centre, now renamed in his honour as the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre.
The centre was renovated under the Renewed Hope Agenda, with Tinubu directing all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to pay for its use to ensure upkeep and sustainability.
Tinubu praised the renovation, saying, “The International Conference Centre is part of our country’s larger vision to become a hub for regional diplomacy, continental trade discussions, global partnerships… reflecting our ‘Nigeria First’ principle.”
He commended FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for completing the project within a year.
Wike emphasized the need for financial discipline, stating, “Whether you are a ministry or an agency, you must pay something to use this facility. That is the only way we can sustain it.”
He thanked Tinubu for his leadership, saying, “This transformation would not have been possible without your leadership.”
The renovated centre is expected to host international summits, exhibitions, and corporate events, solidifying Abuja’s position as a hub for global gatherings.
Tinubu assured Nigerians of his administration’s determination to revitalise infrastructure across key sectors.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio lauded the collaborative spirit between the executive, legislature, and judiciary under Tinubu’s leadership, praising Wike for his vision and execution.
