Nigerian military troops, in collaboration with vigilante groups, have successfully rescued six kidnapped victims and recovered stolen cattle from bandits in Kebbi State.
The kidnapped victims and stolen cattle were from Kokanawa and Ukuhu communities in the Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
The operation was carried out following a directive from Governor Nasir Idris, after reports of the incident emerged.
Thee Director of Security in the Kebbi State Cabinet Office, Abdulrahman Zagga, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday in Birnin-Kebbi.
Zagga said the security team tracked the bandits to the Zamfara River area, where the victims were rescued and the stolen cattle were recovered.
“The bandits fled during the operation, and the rescued victims have since been reunited with their families,” Zagga said.
He expressed his gratitude to the Governor for his unwavering support to security agencies in the state.
He also commended the security operatives for their bravery and dedication to duty.
“My special appreciation goes to the Governor for his commitment to addressing security challenges across the state,” he said.
