Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani attended a mega rally held over the weekend at the Murtala Mohammed Square, Kaduna
It was a massive show of strength for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday as Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, and APC National Chairman, Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, led thousands of party faithful to a grand rally at Murtala Square, Kaduna, to receive a fresh wave of defectors from opposition parties.
The colourful rally, described by party leaders as a “renewal of unity and victory,” witnessed the formal defection of thousands of members from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) to the APC, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The venue was a sea of party colours as jubilant supporters sang victory songs and waved banners hailing the leadership of Governor Uba Sani and the renewed strength of the APC in Kaduna State.
Among the prominent defectors were sitting and former lawmakers representing Sabon Gari, Igabi, Kaduna South, and Ikara/Kubau Federal Constituencies, alongside several ex-senators, local government chairmen, and influential political figures from both the PDP and NNPP.
Addressing the crowd, Governor Uba Sani expressed delight over the massive turnout and the growing number of new entrants, describing it as a clear indication of public confidence in the APC’s inclusive governance and people-centered policies.
He assured the new members of equal treatment within the party, emphasizing that the Kaduna APC operates as one united family built on justice, fairness, and inclusivity.
“In APC Kaduna, we are one family. We don’t discriminate. Everyone has the same privilege and the same opportunity,” the Governor declared. “Our focus has always been justice, fairness, and inclusivity. Kaduna is the most diverse state in Nigeria, and we have used our diversity as our strength.”
Governor Sani noted that his administration has fostered peace and unity across the state, emphasizing that Kaduna has not recorded any ethno-religious crisis in the past year — a development he attributed to his government’s commitment to equity and inclusion.
“Since we came in, there has not been a single ethno-religious crisis in Kaduna State. We are working as one family, and that is the kind of politics that brings development,” he said.
He also welcomed several prominent figures who recently joined the APC, including former Governor Ramalan Yero, Senator Shehu Sani, Senator Andrew Makarfi Malar, and Senator Suleiman Othman Hunkuyi, among others.
Governor Sani reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering good governance, saying, “Our goal is not politics for power, but politics for the people. Kaduna APC is united, stronger, and ready for the future.”
In his remarks, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, commended Governor Sani for his dynamic and unifying leadership style, noting that the governor’s achievements have repositioned Kaduna as a model of unity and progress in Northern Nigeria.
He added that the massive turnout at the rally demonstrated the people’s unwavering support for the APC and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Also speaking, APC National Chairman, Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, praised Governor Sani for his bridge-building efforts and the strengthening of party structures across all 23 local government areas of the state.
He said the Kaduna rally signaled the beginning of strategic political realignments as the APC prepares for the 2027 polls.
“The APC will continue to welcome all Nigerians who share our vision of inclusive governance and national development,” Yilwatda stated.
