University of Calabar (Unical) has promoted 24 lecturers to the professorial cadre.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Florence Obi announced the promotion in a statement made available to newsmen in Calabar on Thursday.
The promotion followed approval from the 250th meeting of the institution’s senate held on Wednesday.
Among the promoted academics are 12 lecturers elevated to the rank of Professors and 12 to Associate Professors.
Prof. Obi noted that the promotion reflects the University’s continued commitment to academic excellence and staff development.
“The promotion reflects the University’s continued commitment to academic excellence and staff development,” she said.
Obi, who chaired the University Senate, commended the various deans, heads of departments, and Senate members for their contributions to the institution’s growth and stability.
