By SADIQ ABUBAKAR, Maiduguri –
The Personal Assistant Domestic (Northeast) to the Vice President, Comrade Mahmud Muhammad, has expressed gratitude to the youths, party stalwarts, and thousands of supporters who endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for a second term in the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was made during the North East APC Consultative Meeting in Gombe state.
Mahmud stated that the unanimous decision would ensure continuity of good governance with inclusivity, progress, and development of Nigeria at all levels.
“The unanimous decision taken by all stakeholders to ensure Tinubu/Shettima fly another same ticket come 2027 would ensure continuity of good governance with inclusivity, progress, and development of Nigeria at all levels,” he said.
He thanked Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State, who chairs the North East Governors’ Forum, as well as Governors Alhaji Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State and Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State, for their support.
Mahmud also applauded the large turnout of people, including youths, women groups, and stakeholders, who unanimously gave their support for the Tinubu/Shettima ticket.
However, chaos erupted at the meeting when Comrade Mustapha Salihu, National Vice Chairman of the APC in the North-East, failed to mention Vice President Kashim Shettima’s name while endorsing President Tinubu for a second term.
A similar situation occurred when National Chairman Umar Ganduje endorsed Tinubu without mentioning Shettima’s name, leading to the meeting ending abruptly.
Despite this, Mahmud called on Nigerians to continue praying for peace, emphasizing that there can be no development without peace.
