Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels and her brother Sammy West
Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has shed light on the circumstances surrounding the arrest and arraignment of Samuel Ojeogwu, better known as Sammy West, the brother of popular Nollywood actress Regina Daniels.
According to the Command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, the arrest followed a petition received on October 28, 2025, which accused Samuel and three others of criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, theft, and cyberbullying.
Adeh explained that despite multiple invitations for questioning, Samuel allegedly failed to appear before investigators, prompting the police to obtain a court warrant for his arrest. He was eventually picked up in Lagos and transported to Abuja for further investigation.
The police confirmed that Samuel was arraigned on November 6, 2025, and has since been remanded in custody pending the fulfillment of his bail conditions.
Meanwhile, Regina Daniels has publicly voiced her displeasure over her brother’s detention. The actress accused her husband’s camp, led by Senator Ned Nwoko, of being behind the arrest. She lamented the situation, revealing that her parents had travelled to Abuja to intervene.
In a recent video, Regina hinted that she might reconcile with Nwoko in a bid to secure her brother’s release. She also alleged that the police handling the case were being influenced by “power and connections.”
The actress went on to accuse the senator of abuse and manipulation, claims which Nwoko has firmly denied. The lawmaker countered that Regina’s alleged substance abuse issues contributed to the breakdown of their marriage.
The FCT Police Command, however, maintained that due process is being followed, assuring the public that justice will take its proper course as the case continues in court.
