By EZEKIEL OBI, Abuja-
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has assured residents of Abuja that security agencies are working tirelessly to ensure the safety of lives and properties during and beyond the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
“Abuja remains the safest city in the country, and we are doing everything possible to keep it that way,” Wike stated on Thursday in his Eid-el-Kabir message.
He emphasized the FCT Administration’s close collaboration with security operatives to maintain peace and security in the city.
Wike also urged residents to reflect on the values of sacrifice, obedience, and faith embodied in Eid-el-Kabir, and to show kindness to those in need.
“Let the spirit of Eid inspire us to share, uplift, and show kindness to those in need,” he said.
The minister commended the Muslim community in the FCT for their contributions to the territory’s growth and peaceful coexistence, and prayed for President Bola Tinubu’s continued good health and guidance.
“We owe the rapid development of the FCT to the unwavering support President Tinubu has given to the FCTA,” Wike added.
He also highlighted the FCT Administration’s progress in infrastructure development, security enhancement, and social welfare interventions, and announced plans to commission completed projects across the territory to celebrate Tinubu’s second year in office.
