Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum has reaffirmed his government’s continuous support to all security agencies in a bid to securing the lives and property of the citizenry in the state.
The Borno State Commissioner of Information and Internal Security,, Prof. Mohammed Usman Alhaji Tar, stated this on Tuesday during his ministerial courtesy visit to the Department of Security Services (DSS), Borno State Office, Maidugiri.
He said: “Our dear Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum, is always ready to support security agencies in the state. He did it, he is still doing it and will continue to do so for peace to reign in Borno State and Nigeria at large.”
He also assured continuous cordial working relationship with the DSS and pleged to established a formidable synergy and commitment towards effective collaboration and partnership among security agencies towards permanent restoration of peace in the state.
While responding, the Director of DSS Borno State, Malam Mamman Mannir Murtala, extolled the leadership virtues and unwavering commitment of Governor Zulum in ensuring the safety of lives and property in the state.
Murtala also appreciated and acknowledged the choice of the Ministry’s new nomenclature and expanded mandate to include “Internal Security” in its ministerial responsibilities proceed to home affairs while pledging the full supports of the service in assisting the ministry to realize its mandate.
The DSS boss also described as unprecedented the appointment of Prof. Mohammed Tar as Commissioner of Information and Internal Security.
He said, “for those of us in the security sector, the name TAR resonates in our minds. We often do hear about him than to see him.”
The Hon. Commissioner was accompanied by the ministry’s management staff and others including the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Ministerial Secretary, Directors and Heads of Agencies under the supervision of the Ministry among others.
