By SADIQ ABUBAKAR, Maiduguri –
Coalition of Gwoza concerned Clubs and Associations ,Borno state have appealed to Governor Babagana Zulum to reconsider the withdrawal of Dr. Ibrahim Yusuf Ngoshe from the state commissioner-nominee list forwarded to the State House Assembly last week F
The Spokesman/Leader of the coalition, Abdulrazak Abubakar who stated this Tuesday at a press conference held a at the NUJ Press Center Maiduguri.
He said: “It is on this note, we are pleading with your excellency to reconsider reinstating Dr. Ibrahim Yusuf Ngoshe as a commissioner designate in the interest of the entire youth of Gwoza Local Government and Born State in general •
“Your Excellency sir, we are appealing to you to revisit the issue of the withdrawal of Dr. Ibrahim Yusuf Ngoshe’s name from the Commissioner Designate. Dr. Ngoshe had done more than enough good to the society and good people of Borno State than the allegations labelled against Him.
“Since then, False allegations have been raised regarding the source of his finances by an individual whom totally doesn’t have alignment with any institution headed by Dr. Ngoshe.
“We strongly denounce in an unequivocal term these attempts to discredit his reputation, as they are totally unfounded.
“Your Excellency sir, you’ve done good nôt only for the nominee but for the entire Youth and citizens of Borno State. And we are very proud of you as our governor.
“However, It has come to our attention that certain individuals have attempted to tarnish Dr. Ngoshe’s political credibility, especially since the time he decided to contest for the position of a member Boro State House of Assembly, representing Gwoza constituency in the recently concluded 2023 general election.
“They pointed out on different social media platforms that He’s been alleged of misappropriation (a case that is still in the court of law). Your Excellency sir, Section 36 (5) of the 1999 Constitution provides that “One is considered innocent until proven guilty”.
“It’s worthy to note that in His capacity, He was able to support countless numbers of youth to pursue their educational goals both within & outside the country. Your Excellency Sir, the same Dr. Ngoshe had tirelessly worked with different stakeholders across different institutions and making sure the sons/daughters of the poorest in our society get educated & liberated from illiteracy & poverty,” Abubakar added.
He argued that ,”as the saying goes, educate one & you educate the society. His achievements and impeccable integrity can be verified from the organization he has worked with.”
“As a seasoned academics and a teacher, he has mentored thousands of us when he was a vice principal and principal of Mairi Islamic Secondary School for over 20 years and a Serving Lecturer with the department of Micro Biology university of Maiduguri and a senior visiting lecturer with Borno State University from 2019 to date.
“This should have been the time Dr. Ngoshe is expected to reap the fruits of his labor: But sadly, one unidentified individual claiming to be a concerned citizen of Borno State whom have capitalized on his personal reasons and using his wealth and influence to tarnish and frustrate Dr. Ngoshe over unfounded allegation that Dr. has never been found wanted about the Management and board of Mairi Islamic Secondary School,” Abubakar said.
He further argued that action can not be taken against him when it is not proven by the court to be guilt if the allegations leveled against him before the court.
The leader of the coalition said that for the purpose of clarity, Dr. Ibrahim Yusuf Ngoshe has never been reported by any staff, management or board members of Mari Islamic Secondary school to EFCC over misappropriation of school assets or funds. It was an individual whom refused to publicly refuse to declare his identity and his proofs for his allegation against Dr. Ngöshe.
“Your excellency sir, we the entire youth of Gwoza and Borno State in general, believe in the credibility of Dr. Ngoshe and we are solely behind him at this trying moment. By this press conference, we passed the following vote of confidence on Dr. Noshe and tender specific request you his Excellency the Executive Governor of Borno
