2 killed, 8 others injured in IED explosion in Mafa, Borno

 

No fewer than two members of Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) in Mafa LGA of Borno State have been killed while eight others sustained various degree of injuries following an explosion from Improvised Explosive Device (IED).

The incident occured on Tuesday while they were on their routine operations along Mafa/-Konduga LGAs axis and stepped on a landmine planted by suspected Boko Haram terrorists.

It was gathered that the two of the bereaved CJTF members instantly died on the spot of the bomb blast while the remaining eight members sustained various degree of injuries and were rushed to the Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.

They were buried in Mafa town on Tuesday evening according to Islamic rites. Prayers were offered to Allah to forgive the deceased their shortcomings and give their families the fortitude to bear the irrepàrrable lost

The Executive Chairman, Mafa Local Government Council, Hon. Goni Gonibe, alongside Borno State House of Assembly (BOSHA) Member representing Mafa, LGC State Constituency, Hon Baba Ali Modu, Mafa LGC Secretary, Alhaji Sale Bukar, and Mafa Brigade Commander, among other community members attended the burial.

The Chairman, Goni Gonibe, Member BOSHA, Baba Ali Modu, Council Secretary, Alhaji Sale Bukar and other sympathizers also visited the Hospital to see situations of those injured and assured the families of the victims that proper medical care should be given to all, and prayed for their quick recovery.
