However, they are few individuals who used their status as celebrities to make a huge impact and call for change in 2021.

These celebrities made impacts by carrying out humanitarian efforts and doing philanthropic giving, so without further ado here are 7 Celebrities that made a huge impact in 2021.

Nigerian Singer and Performer, Davido Adeleke, used his status as an international Singer to raise 600,000 thousand dollars for orphanages in Nigeria.

The Afrobeats singer celebrated his 29th birthday in November by raising funds through Twitter for orphanages in Nigeria. The singer donated $120,000 himself and announced that he had assembled a five-person committee to help distribute the funds.

American female rapper Lizzo called out institutional racism at a 6ok Capacity concert in New York in September 2021. Calling for the acknowledgement of the history of racism the US has been built on she said: “I have to shout out that the land we’re standing on is Seneca Village, and if you don’t know what it is, that was an affluent African American community that lived here in the early 1900s, They were evicted and bulldozed so they could build this park.” She went on to speak about the interconnectedness of issues such as poverty and climate justice.

The Billionaire business mogul and singer, Rihanna stood up against Asian American hate crimes in April 2021. Recall that the Asian American communities were racially attacked across the US due to economic losses fueled by fear and hate.

The Barbados billionaire went undercover to protest at the Stop Asian Hate rally in New York City, brandishing signs and dancing in the street with fellow protestors. She did not only march but also donated funds to support grassroots Asian American organizations.

The buzzing American Singer Olivia Rodrigo visited the American White House in July and met the American President Joe Biden to encourage the youths to get Covid-19 Vaccinations. Furthering her campaign on Instagram She said: “It’s important to have conversations with friends and family members, encouraging all communities to get vaccinated. Even if you are young and not immunocompromised, getting your COVID-19 vaccination is the best thing you can do for your health and your loved ones’ health. YOU have the power to save lives.”
