To adequately address the challenge of park in Abuja, the Benue State Government has handed over newly acquired park to Benue Links Nigeria Limited to be used as its office and motor park in Abuja.

The park which is just a stone throw from the temporary park currently used by the company, is known as Kwalika Park, located in Durumi, along Nnamdi Azikiwe Express way, Abuja.

Speaking during the hand handover ceremony on behalf of the Benue State Government in Abuja, the Commissioner for Power, Renewable Energy and Transport, Hon. Bar. Omale Omale, said the operational challenges being experienced by Benue Links Nigeria Limited in Abuja, was due to lack of a permanent motor park,

Omale maintained that the administration of Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia which is bent on providing permanent solutions to problems in the state over the years, decided to obtain a permanent motor park for the company so as to put an end to issues of harassment and embarrassments associated with the make shift arrangement currently in place.

He further stated that owning a park in Abuja will further position Benue Links to take her prime position among state owned transport companies in Nigeria and also enable her explore the possibility of extending the reliable and affordable transport services that it offers, to other parts of the country from Abuja.

He informed that the State Government has.also obtained a permanent park for Benue Links Nigeria Limited in Adikpo, kwande LGA of Benue State while plans are in advanced stage to also obtain permanent parks in Otukpo, Gboko and Katsina-Ala for the company.

A statement by the Information Officer of the company, Johnson Ehi Daniel made available to journalists on Wednesday, informed that the Commissioner expressed profound gratitude to the Executive Governor of Benue State, Hyacinth Iormem Alia and the Government of the State for deploying scarce resources to acquire assets for the State thereby adding to the state portfolio and also putting up investments that would benefit the state in the long run.

According to the statement, the Commissioner appreciated the Management of Benue Links Nigeria Limited led by the Acting General Manager, Comrade Fanafa Alexander for demonstrating a high level of prudence in managing state resources and for always calling the Ministry’s attention to areas of challenges.

He expressed confidence in the capacity of the current management of Benue Links Nigeria Limited to drive the company’s vision inline with Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia’s transportation policy.

In his response, the Acting General Manager of Benue Links Nigeria Limited, Comrade Alexander Fanafa lauded the Alia led government for his magnanimity towards the good people of Benue State for investing in only ventures that would take the state to enviable heights and also benefit the people directly.

The Benue Links boss commended governor Alia for acquiring a permanent motor park for the company in Abuja, after acquiring a permanent park for the company in Adikpo, Kwande LGA, with plans to also acquire parks in Otukpo, Gboko and Katsina-Ala soon.

He assured the Benue community and members of the public that the company would commence operations from the park as soon it restructures the park to serve its new purpose while also trying to obtain all relevant permits for a motor park in Abuja.

The company’s boss revealed that it was exploring the possibility of opening new routes from Abuja to other parts of the country.
