Borno Govt pledges to improve Arabic & Sangaya education

Borno. State Commissioner of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Hon. Abba Lawan Wakilbe has assured that Borno State Government would continue to support and assist Arabic and Sangaya education in the state.

Hon. Wakilbe also said the state government will construct and establish Integrated Higher Arabic Schools in all the three Senatorial districts of the state.

He stated this at a four day International World Arabic Day Poem, Prose, Qiuz Competition organized by Borno. State Arabic and Sangaya Education Board (BOSASEB) in Maiduguri.

Represented by the Principal of Mustapha Umar El Kanemi College of Arabic Maiduguri, Malam Ma’aji Muhammad Muhammad, the commissioner added that government will continue to provide all the necessary facilities, equipments, instructional materials and amenities required in all the Higher Arabic and Islamic. Schools in all parts of the state with a view to ensure quality and standard Arabic and Islamic Education across the state.

He thanked the organizers of the competition while commending BOSASEB Board Chairman and management of the board for effectively steering the affairs of Arabic and Sangaya schools in the state, promising to render all the necessary support and encouragement for the board to achieve its set goals and objectives of reforming Arabic and sangaya schools.

The Chairman of the Borno State Arabic and Sangaya Education Board (BOSASEB), Khalifa Sheikh Aliyu Sheikh Abulfatihi also announced the purchase of some books at N500, 000 while receiving 1000 copies of Arabic textbooks titled, ” Arabic Grammar Vol. 1I II and III donated .by Dr. Umar Yakub Alkanuri, a Senior Lecturer with the Mohammed Goni College of Legal and Islamic Studies (MOGCOLIIS) Maiduguri for free and to be shared by the board to all Arabic and Islamic schools across the state.

In his remark, the chairman called on the future generation to be mindful and conscious of their learning and concentrate more harder on their learning and ensure that they acquire high level of knowledge about the religion of islam and practice it as a way of life. He also appreciated the students and their tutors in the display of competence and sound knowledge in Qur’an, Arabic and Islamic eduction during the competition.

He assured that the board and management of BOSASED will give all the necessary support, encouragement and assistance needed where necessary in the upliftment and promotion of Arabic and Sangaya education in the state and beyond.

The chairman also commended the students for their display of knowledge and high level of competence in the poem, prose, quiz, debate and Imla competition to mark the international world Arabic Day in the state.

He also congratulated the winners of the competition who demonstrated excellent competence and knowledge, assuring that, the board is always and ever ready to render any support that will elevate abd promote Arabic and Sangaya schools.b
