Borno police present N41.47m cheques to families of 26 fallen heroes

Borno State Police Command has presented cheques amounting to the sum of Forty-0ne Million, Four Hundred and Seventy-One Thousand, Two Hundred and Twenty-Seven Naira, Twenty-Eight Kobo , (N41,471,227.28k), to twenty six (26) beneficiaries and Next of kins as the IGP FAMILY WELFARE, GROUP PERSONAL ACCIDENT, GROUP LIFE ASSURANCE.

 

Presenting the cheques on Friday at the police headquarters conference hall Maiduguri Friday, Borno State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Lawan Yusufu, said the gestures were aimed at improving the living standard of families of police officers who died while in active service as well as police personnel who sustained injuries while discharging their mandate.

A statement issued and signed by the command’s spokesman, ASP Nahum Daso, said the presentation of the cheques is part of the Group Life Assurance Benefits and IGP Family Welfare Insurance Schemes.

The Commissioner of Police while presenting the cheques, appreciated the Inspector General of Police for the welfare and urged the beneficiaries to make efficient and judicious use of the money for their betterment.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries in a closing remark, Mr Salisu Ibrahim appreciated the IGP for the welfare, stressing that he is short of words as the welfare had arrived timely with the current economical challenge, they promised to utilize the money given to them properly.
