The All progressive Congress (APC) in Cross River State has passed a vote of confidence on the State Chairman of the party, Alphonsus Ogar Eba.
This is coming on the heels of a section of the stakeholders calling on the state chairman of APC to resigned.
The Cross River State APC Assistant Treasurer, Ekong Matthew, said: “As party, we are united and therefore moved a vote of undiluted confidence on our chairman.
Supporting the motion, Hon Okara Ekawu, the APC Welfare Secretary, said the Party is solidly behind the State Chairman, Alphonsus Ogar Eba.
Responding, the State Chairman, Alphonsus Ogar Eba, said having listened to his wonderful colleagues, he feels truly honoured in face of provocative tendencies, to bring sanity to the party.
He stated that the Party had set up a disciplinary committee to try some persons for anti-party activities in the coming days.
According to him, the state Governor Bassey Otu had sued for peace among party members.
He said there is no provision in the party’s constitution that empowers stakeholders to move a motion against him.
“He is currently serving a term in office and is barely two years in office, no organ of the party including stakeholders has power to remove him except NEC National Executive Council of the Party”, he said.
