The Borno State Director of Department State Security (DSS), Adamu Ahmed Umar has commended Allamin Foundation for Peace and Development for its rehabilitation, deradicalization and skills acquisition programmes for victims and survivors of Boko Haram insurgency.
Alhaji Umar also assured to liaise with the foundation in the department’s efforts towards maintenance and promotion of security and peace in the state.
He stated this on Thursday in his office while receiving the Executive Director of Allamin Foundation Hajiya Hamsatu Allamin and her delegation on courtesy visit to the DSS office to brief the State Director on her foundation’s efforts made so far in bringing succour to the insurgency victims and survivors across the 27 LGAs of the state.
“This is our own foundation like the only local NGO that is locally based here in Maiduguri and carrying all its activities within the state capital, working on women and children affected by the insurgency.
“We have been hearing about Allamin Foundation and we also look forward to meeting to know ourselves better and acquaint ourselves more in areas of operation , needs or support and assistance. From your activities and what we see and hear about your activities, you are doing well and work of God.
” It is emphatic and humanitarian which only God can reward you and not everybody can do it or invest his or her resources and commitment and zeal or passion for it. However, we are passionate about your Humanitarian activities which we are also interested in security, peace and development of the state,” Adamu said
On her part, The Executive Director of the foundation, said the foundation is always trying to strengthen the capacities and will for transitional justice and reconciliation in Borno State.
She said the foundation has been working in the state for over three years as an NGO but have been operating for almost 8 years.
Hajiya Hamsatu expressed appreciation for the warm reception accorded her and her team while promising to maintain the cordial working relationship existing between the DSS, other security agents and Allamin Foundation in the state.
