A Munich court found the man guilty of causing serious bodily harm after he had admitted carrying out the castrations.

He had originally been charged with causing death through negligence, after one of the men died as a result of the castration.

The man, a former electrician, admitted offering castration in sadomasochistic internet forums.

Several men responded to his offer and paid him to torture and castrate them.

Prosecutors had called for a sentence of 11 years, while the defence asked for not more than seven years.
