Gov Zulum swears in new commissioners, perm sec

Governor Zulum presided over the swearing in of approved Borno State Commissioners and Permanent Secretaries.

Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has sworn in the newly appointed and approved State Commissioners with a charge on them to be in the forefront of promoting good governance and dedication to work.

The governor gave the charge on Monday during the swearing in ceremony which was held at the Musa Usman State Secretariat International Conference Hall in Maiduguri.

The oath of office and allegiance were administered by Justice Fadau Umar on behalf the State Chief Judge, Justice Zanna Shettima while Governor Zulum presided over the swearing ceremony.

He further appealed to the civil servants to dedicate themselves to work and be punctual as his government intends to implement the civil service reform report by first embarking on staff promotion exams by October 2022.

The governor noted that as part of his efforts to reinvigorate the state workforce and revive the entire state Secretariat, two staff canteens and wash facilities will be constructed for both the male and female workers.

He also directed The Office of The Head of Service to immediately commence staff training on the job alongside promotions of workers. The governor also directed The State Ministry of Trade, Investment and Tourism to rehabilitate the filling station located within the state Secretariat.

Zulum thanked the Speaker and members of the Borno State Assembly for their support and cooperation as well as cordial working relationship with the executive arm of government towards effective and efficient service delivery to the people of the state..

He also appreciated the support of the APC State Chairman, party stakeholders as well as the cooperation of the civil service. He therefore solicited for their understanding while pledging to bridge up the gap in terms of welfare.

The governor thanked the entire people of Borno State for giving him the opportunity to serve them for the second term while assuring to improve the administration of the state by merging some ministries for effective, efficient and convenient performance.
