Governor Ayade’s industrialization policy goodwill for APC – Aide

Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade

PATRICK ABANG, Calabar –

The Governor Ben Ayade’s industrialization policy has been described as a goodwill for the All Progressives Congress (APC) led government in Cross River State, which is capable of attracting more goodwill from Nigerians to the party, the governor’s Special Adviser, Cocoa Development and Control, Dr Oscar Ofuka has said.

Dr. Ofuka also called on the party leadership in the state to leverage on those achievements in the course of its “political evangelism” programme to win more supporters and members to the party.

NATIONAL ACCORD reports that the political evangelism is an initiative of the party leadership in the state to reach out to aggrieved members, the public and other parties with a view to wooing them to the APC.

Dr. Ofuka observed that the programme can be worthwhile by leveraging on the achievements of Governor Ayade led administration.

Speaking while hosting members of the Etung Local Government Chapter Executive Committee of the party who were on a courtesy visit, the special adviser, said incidentally, not much of the administration’s successes have been made public.

He charged the party leadership to map out strategies to reach out to more people outside of the party membership with the achievements of the APC led government as one of the easiest and convenient measures to attract the desired goodwill of the public.

Ofuka mentioned that under the present administration, Cross River has witnessed unprecedented achievements in the industrial sector, infrastructural development among others,

He added that “never in the history of the state has there been a turnaround in the Cocoa economy than now with the Cocoa Revolution Programme which was initiated by Governor Ben Ayade”.

He maintained that under the programme, emphasis has been placed on expanding the age long cocoa plantations with the massive cultivation of improved species.

According to him, the initiative has brought about the distribution of cocoa seedlings to farmers at no cost from the government’s cocoa nurseries, while more communities are identifying with the development through donation of vast farm lands for the raising of plantations in parts of the state.

Earlier, The Chapter Chairman of the Etung Local Government Chapter of the party, Mr. Eric Ndifon, said the call was to avail members the opportunity to interact with the governor’s special adviser on how best to move the party forward.

The Chairman also said he was particularly impressed with the massive development witnessed in the Cocoa Value Chain in the state especially with the expansion of the existing Cocoa Farms, the establishment of an ultramodern Cocoa Factory as well as the introduction of the Small Holders Scheme which has gone a long way to improve the living conditions of the people.

He also commended Governor Ayade for the appointment of Dr. Ofuka into the Cocoa Industry, which he described as a round peg in a round hole.
