Worried by the ever increasing spate of insecurity in Nigeria, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has called on all to show patriotism by laying off partisan mentality and collectively bring solutions that will end the menace and put Nigeria on the part of prosperity.

” We need to collaborate in synergy as leaders to see to the establishment of long lasting peace and security of our country. And to achieve this, all hands must be on deck to ensure every state, Sokoto inclusive and Nigeria are secured”, he said.

Tambuwal, the former Governor of Sokoto, spoke on Friday while flagging off the distribution of 30,000 bags of Ramadan grains to PDP members, local government executives, associations and thousands of needy within the metropolis.

He called on all to embrace reality and rally support for Nigeria ‘s greatness, saying that the challenges bedeviling Nigeria is surmountable.

According to him, Nigerians must reduce the dosage of partisanship for nation building as we need peace.

In his appeal to both Christians and Muslims, who are both in the lent and Ramadan seasons together, Tambuwal urged them to exhibit the spirit of tolerance, sacrifice, prayer and forgiveness.

“”We must not leave any matter unattended to especially the issue of insecurity. As a former governor who had experienced security challenges in the eastern flank of Sokoto state , I seized the opportunity to talk with security chiefs recently.

Reacting to 2023 governorship election of Sokoto state after a whole year, the former governor insisted that every body knows that the PDP’s candidate won the election but it was rigged in favour of the APC candidate.

Continuing, Senator Tambuwal said despite being rigged in favour of the APC, the PDP as a party of the masses is still waxing stronger and vibrant by the day because all those elected under it platform are giving good representation by serving their respective constituents and the state especially with the current hardship.

Speaking earlier in an opening remarks, the state PDP chairman, Hon. Bello Aliyu Goronyo said the gesture was aimed at relieving households of the current hardship in demonstration of the party’s spirit of empathy and kindness.

The PDP state chairman also expressed appreciation to party members for their resilience and supports, saying it’s a common knowledge that the opposition APC lacked the spirit of empathy for the rising level of hardship occasioned by poverty, hunger and insecurity.
