The people of Mada living in Panda and Karshi development areas, including those in Karu local government area of Nasarawa State, today paid a solidarity visit on the Esu Karu, the Chairman of Karu traditional Council pleading with the Paramount Ruler to help them get a gazetted Chiefdom for Mada people living in the area.
Speaking during the visit, the leader of the delegation Barr. Victor Jonah Auta, told the Esu Karu that his people have been living in the area for over a hundred years and have no any other place to go hence the need for them to seek for a Chiefdom of their own so that they can appoint one of their own as chief that will be conveying their problems to government.
He commended the Paramount Ruler for his pragmatic leadership qualities which has brought relative peace in the area and urged him to keep up the good work he is doing.
Responding, the Esu Karu Pharmacist Luka Panam Baba commended the Mada Community for finding time to come and encourage him for what he is doing to his people and said he is encouraged by their visit.
The Esu Karu who is the chairman of Karu local government traditional council assured them of his support and promised to convey their request to the appropriate quarters for action and advised them to also tell the traditional ruler over seeing Panda and Karshi development areas to seek for support and cooperation.
He expressed satisfaction with the cordial relationship existing between Mada people and the host Gbagi community and advised them to ensure that the peace enjoyed in Karu is maintained.
