Nasarawa lawmaker empowers constituent with N40m tools

A lawmaker, Mr Aliyu Nana, representing Keffi West Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has distributed empowerment tools worth over N40 million to his constituents.

Speaking at the event held at the Keffi Local Government Headquarters on Sunday, Nana said the initiative was intended to transform the economy and standard of living of the beneficiaries.

He said: “Today, I am distributing 45 Jincheng Roba Roba motorcycles, 45 grinding machines, eight generators and five sewing machines, amongst others.

“I urge you to use these items to become self reliant and improve your standard of living and that of your family members,” he said.

Nana also said that he had sunk 15 boreholes in different wards in his constituency.

“He who provides water provides life because human beings cannot survive without water,” he said.

He further said that he installed a transformer at Keffi Stadium community to boost power supply in the area.

Nana said he trained 86 youths in different skills, such as production of liquid soap, shampoo and room fresheners, among others to enable them become self reliant and contribute to the development of the constituency and state at large.

He called on the constituents and people of the state to support Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s administration to succeed.

In a speech, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu and Mohammed Idris, the Commissioner for Works, commended Nana for positively touching the lives of his constituents.

They also urged him not to rest on his oars.

In a brief remark, one of the beneficiaries, Mohammed Yakubu, thanked the lawmaker for the gesture and assured him of their continued support.


The News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) reports that the beneficiaries received N5,000 and certificate of participation each.

The event was attended by the Managing Director, Nasarawa State Urban Development Board, Mohammed Wada, the Executive Charman, Keffi Local Government Area (LGA), Baba Shehu, the former Chairman, Keffi LGA, Mr Abdulrahman Maigoro, and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Affairs, Mr Mohammed Dikko, amongst others.
