PATRICK ABANG, Calabar –
In its drive to reduce the scourge of unemployment in the country, the National Directorate of Employment has disbursed starter packs of about N4m to 26 graduates in Cross River State.
The graduates are beneficiaries of the Environmental Beautification Training Scheme (EBTS), which is under the Special Public Works (SPW) Department of the NDE.
Speaking at the Disbursement ceremony organized at the Federal Secretariat Complex, Calabar,the Director General, Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo, said the scheme is just one of the numerous schemes that the NDE utilizes for poverty reduction, employment generation as well as wealth creation for the teaming youth population across the country.
The NDE DG, who was represented by the Cross River State Co-ordinator, Mr Udam Gabriel, reiterated the fact that the NDE has four program departments as well as other service departments which provide the drive for the Directorate to achieve that onerous task of job creation across the country.
